I have seen Dr Youm twice for different reasons. Once he repaired my shoulder and the second time my knee. Both times he explained the procedure and the operations were flawless. Dr. Youm is not only one of the best surgeons he is also a great person. He cares about his patients and has done a remarkable job on all of my surgeries. Dr. Youm is the best!! I traveled from Chicago because he was the only orthopedic surgeon of several who assessed my symptoms and MRI with the skill set and knowledge (he literally wrote the medical textbook on my hamstring injury) to relieve debilitating pain caused from a prior injury and then subsequently a failed surgery done at NW in the Chicago area. Dr. Youm is professional, kind and knows how to effectively listen to patients so that he can successfully help us. He also is the only orthopedic surgeon I will ever trust to operate on my hip/hamstring. I highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for the best orthopedic surgeon. Dr. Youm is an outstanding surgeon. He performed my total knee replacement and I was back to my pre-surgery cycling and hiking activities within 4.5 months of the procedure. Most attentive, caring, wonderful, compassionate and competent doctor I know. He is everything a doctor should be. He was recommended by another doctor by simply saying “ you should see a doctor that treats other doctors”. That’s exactly who Dr. Youm is. Following my first surgery and what I thought was a miracle speed recovery, I have recommended 2 other people (31 and 70+) both had different surgeries and both said recovery time was the quickest they have seen.
